On the 6-week Sign, Say & Play^TM Class...
It is definitely worth attending but I must say that I wasn't confident that Jodie could learn anything initially. However, I used the tips given and have not looked back since.
 
On the Sign, Say & Play^TM Starter Kit...
I only started to really use the kit when the classes ended. Jodie loves the DVD. She watches it every morning now. She loves the CD as well (together with the book). I find the quick guide useful but have not used it much though.

Personal signing experience...
I truly think that this is an excellent programme. Like you said, it opens up your child's world to you. If I had not joined this programme, I would not be able to understand Jodie as much and she would not be able to demand as much as well! I'm not the only one who is impressed, Jodie's grandparents, aunt and uncle are equally impressed. My favourite incident so far is when she went through her books (which I used to teach her) and signed on her own without me being there! She was actually reading a book aloud with baby signs. She was doing that for easily 15 minutes. I secretly had that recorded.

Words to other parents...
I would definitely recommend this to others. To parents who have joined but not seen results:- you have to persevere, even if your child doesn't pay attention when you are teaching them, continue to teach them. You will be surprised how much they can pick up by just glancing or sometimes not looking at you. Your have to be patient and consistent. Signing repeatedly until they get the knack for signing. Once they realise that they can communicate by signing, teaching them becomes easier. Also, when your child doesn't sign back it doesn't mean that they have not learned anything. Sometimes they just need a little longer to express themselves. To those who are considering this programme:- Time flies by so quickly and before you know it your baby is all grown up. Five years down the road, when you ask yourself what you did with your child before they started talking, you will definitely not remember. That is how it was fr my 1st child. For Jodie, I will always remember the way she signs dog, fish and ask for milk in the middle of the night using baby signs!
